Orteke is an ancient puppet art of the Kazakh people, where a wooden goat figurine comes to life and dances to the sounds of the dombra. In the play of the same name by the State Puppet Theater of Almaty, the legendary sal-seri invite the audience on a fascinating journey through folk tales, where music and storytelling intertwine with the unique mastery of Orteke. The live sounds of the dombra, kobyz, sybyzgy, and other national instruments create an atmosphere of warmth and magic, while the audience becomes an active participant, discovering national values and dancing puppets. The performance “Orteke” is a meeting with tradition that comes alive before your very eyes.
The performance will be in Kazakh.
